CAT refers to common admission test conducted by prestigious IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management). It is considered as the toughest management exam in not only India but in Asia-Pacific region as well. Several top notch management schools are affiliated to CAT.

Most of the B-schools prefer choosing students based on their marks in CAT exam India. Lakhs of students every year appear for this exam in several parts of India. The interesting thing is taking CAT exam itself is a great learning students for many students. Students who manage to crack CAT often get admitted in top class management institutions. And once a student has managed to crack CAT and joined his preferred management college, the rest of the journey become quite easy.

CAT 2009 witnessed the exam being by approximately 3 lakhs students. Those who manage to perform exceedingly well are most likely to get a call from top of the league colleges from IIMs. We all know, MBA is a wonderful career opportunity for students willing to carve a niche for themselves in competitive arena of business world. Getting admission in a good college is a major step towards building a strong career in corporate houses.

However, one needs to face extreme competition in his/her attempts of clearing CAT. Hardly a percentage of 2 to 3 from lakhs of students get thorough CAT. CAT examination is held in three stages of Entrance test, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Entrance test checks the students in various subjects like data interpretation, mathematics, English efficiency, analytical capability and current affairs. GD is tough test of how you effectively manage to put across your point of view in the given environment whereas PI is all about representing yourself to the best of capabilities in front of the experienced panel. Students can also opt for different CAT coaching institutes for better preparation. These coaching institutes are a great help in preparing candidates for the CAT examination.
